      • Their was killed
      • Their were dashed
      • Maybe after rethinking their invested time, their sacrificed lives, their hopes they convinced their families about concerning this man…they might have been thinking that indeed; he must have been a really good imposter (IE: Thomas)
      • Maybe they were re-playing the miracles in their heads and, knowing they saw what they saw, they must have been completely confused.
      • If Jesus did not appear to disciples, why was their so drastically changed?

    4Jesus Evidence

    • Jesus & Old Testament predicted his (Num.9:12; Psalm 34:20 – no bone of the sacrifice was to be broken mirroring Jesus’ own death)
    • Jesus predicted the that he would be dead & the time he would rise up from the dead. (Matthew 12:40 – uses Jonah analogy)
      • Note: Conflict of time spent in the tomb (3 days and 3 nights)
    • Jewish understanding of “ ” was not compatible with the 21st Century understanding
    • The Sabbath begins on Friday night, ends on Saturday (this is one day)
    • The Jewish understanding of a day can easily be understood as a of a day, an of a day, or even of a day.
    • Some scholars (IE: Beasley-Murray) believe that the use of the word “day” is not intended literally but is used by Rabbis as an “expression of deliverance” (WBC)
    • Most Bible scholars (Lewis, Demarest, Blomberg, church fathers) understand the Hebrew meaning of 3 days to mean 3 “days” (Friday afternoon, Sat, Sun AM)
    • Matthew’s statement that the Son of Man would remain in the grave “three days and three nights” (Mat.12:40) does not contradict Jesus’ actual stay in the tomb from Friday night to Sunday morning, since Jews reckoned part of a 24 hour day as a whole.”
